Digby
Digby was the result of yet another lengthy search by my mum. We found him in Condobolin, in regional NSW. He was 6 years old and 16hh, and had done a little showjumping after having raced under the name "Exclusive Copy" (a bit of a joke, because he looks just like hundreds of other horses!).
Mum bought Digby for herself and had lots of success, competing up to Elementary Dressage, 1.10m showjumping and Pre-Novice Eventing.
Mum bought herself a second horse at about the same time that poor old Joe was having arthritis issues. I took over Digby's reins from Mum, and had instant success.
Our competition history
Digby and I competed mostly in Eventing, but also Showjumping, Dressage and a bit of Hacking. We also did a fair bit of Pony Club.
Some of our more major results that I can remember include:
- Macarthur Horse Trials (Intro - 1999) - 1st (after I had ridden him 8 times!)
- Macarthur Horse Trials (Intro - 1999) - 2nd
- Macarthur Horse Trials (Intro Three Day Event - 1999) - 4th
- Zone 26 Showjumping Championships (2003)- 1st Equitation
- St Ives Twilight Show (2000)- 1st Show Hunter Hack
- Zone 26 Eventing Championships (C grade - 1999) - 4th
Where is he now?
Not long after Joseph passed away, when we had owned Digby for 8-9 years, we went looking for a new horse for me. We found a really nice horse, but we decided he was better suited for Mum than for me. Mum made the difficult choice to part with Digby. Had Joe still been with us, we'd have kept the 2 together forever!
Digby went to a 14 year old girl to take her up the ranks in Eventing.
